RuckFit UK Challenge's are a series of structured outdoor fitness activities that integrate the long used military technique of moving over a distance carrying weighted backpacks. Participants are organised into teams and tasked with completing a designated distance ruck, carrying the set weight for the specific Challenge Level and completing team based functional fitness tasks along the route. These events are designed as collective team challenges rather than competitive races, ensuring that all participants start and finish together as a cohesive group, with continuous support and motivation provided by instructors and fellow participants throughout the event.
The RuckFit UK Challenge aims to enhance physical and mental well-being while fostering social connectivity through teamwork and camaraderie. Our different event levels are tailored to accommodate all fitness levels, with three distinct tiers of difficulty: Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced, each conducted as separate events. The primary objective is to offer a stimulating, enjoyable, and supportive environment where participants can improve their physical and mental resillience by leveraging the scientifically proven benefits of outdoor exercise and the power of working as a team.
A Rucksack (a.k.a. A 'Ruck')
If you are new to Rucking, just grab any backpack you can find laying around. When you've got a few miles under your belt and your hooked on RuckFit Challenges, you can invest in a more comfortable, purpose made, rucking pack like our RF-1 Rucking Backpack
Add Some Weight
Once you have your backpack, you need to put some weight in it. Start with anything you've got as your weight - dumbbells, bricks, books, or you can fill plastic bags with gravel / soil etc. Just add weight. Again as you progress you can invest in purpose made rucking plates

Rucking Is Beautifully Simple
Foundation Level
2 Hours / 3 to 6 miles
For those starting their fitness journey or new to rucking, our Foundation Level Challenges offer an inclusive, supportive environment to start your challenge experience. Perfect for beginners looking to gradually build endurance and experience the thrill of rucking.
Intermediate Level
3 Hours / 6 to 9 miles
Designed for individuals with some rucking experience or moderately good fitness levels, Intermediate Level Challenges provide a more rigorous experience. This level is ideal for those ready to elevate their rucking fitness and take on greater challenges.
Advanced Level
3 to 4 Hours / 10 to 15 miles
Advanced Level Challenges are not for everyone and you will need to have high levels of endurance and strength. The weight is heavier, the distance is longer, and the speed you will be moving is faster. A true test of resilience, grit and teamwork.
